Updated NHSGGC CHCP community profiles published.

The Glasgow Centre for Population Health has created a new set of community health profiles building on the success of similar health profiles produced by NHS Health Scotland in 2004. The Information and Services Division (ISD) are producing general health and well-being profiles for all CHP / CHCP areas across Scotland but meantime ten community profiles have been constructed, one for each Community Health (and Care) Partnership within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area. The profiles provide data on over 70 indicators for a range of health outcomes (e.g. life expectancy, mortality, hospitalisation) and health determinants (e.g. smoking levels, breastfeeding, income, employment, crime, education). Data is provided for each neighbourhood /intermediate zone in a community and for the community as a whole. A summary table with definitions and sources for each indicator is also provided at the end of the profile. The Glasgow data and information on the national project is also available at the Scottish Public Health Observatory website.
