The Scottish Executive have published two new documents on the Mental Heath (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.

One is a research report "The early impact of the administration of new compulsory powers under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003". It's produced by the
Scottish Executive Social Research unit and, according to the Scottish Government site it "provides a detailed overview of the administration required by the new compulsory powers and assesses the impact of this work on the workload, roles and responsibilities of relevant professional groups. The report also offers recommendations on how practice can be improved".

The other report is a "The new mental health act : an easy read guide" which was written by the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities and is aimed at service users and carers.

Copies of both reports will be added to the library and online versions are available from the links above.
